Compression splice


Mid Span Compression Joint is used for joining two lengths of the conductor. The joint has a resistively of less than 75% of the resistivity of the equivalent length of the conductor. The compression joint doesn't permit slipping off, damage to, or failure of the complete conductor or any part thereof at a load less than 95% of the ultimate tensile strength of the conductor.
A compression-type mid-span joint consists of the following parts:
a. Aluminium alloy tube for aluminum alloy conductors
b. Tapered plugs, machined from the aluminum rod of 99 percent purity.
